Mariam Arthur

Mariam Arthur grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in California, and has also lived in the states of Georgia and Utah. Ms. Arthur graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre & Communication at Southern Utah University in 2003 and received the Communication Department Award of Merit for Outstanding Broadcast Excellence in 2002. She has worked in the fields of hospitality, event management, journalism and media (including film). She is now the Director of the Learning Resource Center at Pannasastra University of Cambodia (PUC). Ms. Arthur first visited Cambodia in 2006, and fell in love with the country and its people while staying with a family in Takeo province. One year later she moved permanently to Cambodia and began helping to develop the ailing cinema industry. Currently, she is a founding board member of Mr. Ly Bun Yim’s filmmaker association, "Khmer Movie Production International Standard," and a founding member of the Association of Filmmakers of Cambodia. Hobbies of Ms. Arthur include singing, Khmer traditional dancing, guitar, photography, rock climbing, traveling, writing and entertaining friends.
