Hi,
I am looking for a two bedroom apartment from the beginning of July.... I do not mind if it is a flatshare or not!
I do need the internet as I work from home and study....
My ideal location would be in BKK1 but am open to areas nearby.... I would also be happy with somewhere further south near the Russian Market.... (near street 430)
If you know of anything please let me know either via the website, a private message or on oz_2010 [at] hotmail [dot] co [dot] uk
Thanks

Hi,

Our apartment is up for rent from July (see my earlier post - 3 bed/2 bath in Tuol Sleng). It's bigger than you want (3 bed) but you may be interested as the price is probably the same or less than a 2 bed in BKK I. My area is BKK III, (Street 348) just off Street 310 and about 5 mins to the Russian Market, 5 mins or less to BKK I. We're hooked up with the internet already so it would just be a matter of getting the company to fix you up with a modem (that took 2 days from our first request).

Anyway, fully appreciate that you want a 2 bed but you're welcome to pop in and see our place if you would like to.

Thanks,

Deborah.

Hi Deborah,
The apartment sounds good - is there anyway you could send me some photos? oz_2010 [at] hotmail [dot] co [dot] uk
I have seen your post but do not remember if you are all moving or if it just a room that is available? Either is fine with me.... I used to live South of the Russian Mkt off st 430 and liked the area as it was quiet.... Like you said it's not the BKK1 but nothing is too far in PP!!!
Thanks
Jackie

Hi Jackie,

Yes, no problem I can get photos to you. I attached some to my original posting if you can access those but I"m happy to email them to you too. They're on my laptop at home so I'll do it this evening. Myself and my boyfriend are moving so the whole apartment is free. It's big enough for you to make an office in one bedroom, take another for yourself and take room mate for the third of you wanted to.

I'll get the photos to you today, and if you would like to pop in and have a look then you're more than welcome to.

Thanks,

Deborah.

Hi Deborah,
I had a look at the photos on the original post and it looks lovely.... Unfortunately I can't afford $350/$400 as it is actually more than I am paying now... I am still unsure about whether or not to flat share or carry on living alone!!
Plus I would have to buy furniture as well. All I have are some shelves so I would need to buy lounge and bedroom furniture.
Congratulations on getting engaged.
Thanks
Jackie

Hi Jackie,

No problem - I hope you find somewhere soon. There are quite a few places around so I'm sure there will be something that matches what you need Smile

As for living alone or with someone - that's a tough one, especially when you're working from home too. Nice to have the company but not so good if the flatmate leaves and you have to cover the rent!

Anyway, thanks for the congrats and I hope you find somewhere soon. Just for info: we're moving to the west, not far from Sovanna which most people consider too far, but actually isn't that far. 2bed/2bath, huge roof terrace for $170 a month. So for those who have transport there are bargains to be had!

Good luck finding a place.

Deborah.

Hi Deborah,
Would the furniture in the lounge be staying or for sale?
I think it might be worth looking at the apartment. I know it's a bit over my price range but if I was to flatshare it wouldn't be so bad!!
Would that be ok?
Thank you
Jackie

Hi Jackie,

Unfortunately we will be taking the furniture with us as the new place is unfurnished. When I bought it I paid just under $400 for the lounge set (sofa, two chairs, cushions and table), and a balcony set (sofa, two chairs, cushions and table).

The best thing to do is get to the cane furniture street and I'm now racking my brains to remember the name of that street!
Okay, checked the map - it's Sothearos, heading towards the river, just after it crosses Norodom (the road has a near 90 degree bend on the map). Take a Khmer and get bargaining - our set is quite bulky so was expensive but they have a range of furniture starting at much less than ours.

You're more than welcome to come and look, even if you don't end up taking it. We enjoy living here and I would just like someone else to enjoy it too. I'll be home after 6pm tonight and the same tomorrow, or you can pop in tomorrow lunchtime if you prefer. I left my phone at home today but if you want to come just text, and my boyfriend will check the message (012 266157)

Bye for now,

Deborah.
