There's a guy called Mr Phay (I think) who is apparently the only kosher Mac dealer in Phnom Penh, situated just north of the Central Market. He was very helpful when I saw him, free advice, had a fair few interesting mac gizmos and spoke good English. Actually, can't believe I didn't think of this before on the other thread, he's got the fastest wifi I've experienced in Phnom Penh.

how about data recovery from a dead laptop ... ? ... by dead, i do mean completely dead, the block i was living in at the time got stuck by lightning ... i've fiddled with it a bit myself, with no results ... plugging the drive as a slave to another system doesn't work ... freezing it doesn't help ... only thing i've yet to try is replacing the disk itself with the disk in a new drive, but that's a bit iffy by all acounts ...

if you can offer a reasonable quote on that knd of data recovery, with price paid on success, then PM me ...

PS. the laptop in question is currently back in australia, but would happily have the drive sent here if the data on it were recoverable without neededing to sell off a few organs ... :roll:
