Help! How do I start looking for jobs in Phnom Penh?!

Hello!

I've visited Cambodia twice (as my boyfriend lives there and is an English teacher in Phnom Penh) and I'm looking to move myself in February 2011.

In an ideal world, I would like to carry out working in the same field as I am in England, the legal sector.

However online job hunting is proving pretty difficult [I know I'm job hunting extremely early, but I like to be super prepared!], as majority of those listed on websites are mainly English teaching, (unpaid) voluntary work, or those for Cambodian nationals.

Can the expats there please give me some advise:
1. realistically being able to find a job online? Is this the norm, or are things done mainly face to face?
2. Are there recruitment agencies? if so, are they widely used?
3. The likelihood of finding legal jobs? I'm also an A-Level Law lecturer so I don't know how many institutions would offer law in their curriculum.
4. The likelihood 'in general' of finding a job that does not involve teaching English
5. Average salaries for expats

Any advise, websites, or people that you know can help will be greatly appreciated!

Regards
Janice

Try www.bongthom.com
or www.phnompenhpost.com also has a jobs section

I'd also use the yellow pages here www.yellowpages.com.kh and look up legal services and send your cv directly to those companies that look legit.

Finding a job online is possible, especially with the more reputable companies. Not sure on average salaries, there is a huge range. Hunting early is good. Good luck.
