Friends-International (FI) is a social enterprise that works with marginalized urban children and youth, their families and communities, to help them become independent and productive citizens of their country.
Friends-International is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Grants Manager, to join our international team in Phnom Penh.

Position overview
The Grants Manager will be a part of an international team working on securing funding from institutional donors, trusts and foundations and private donors within an international development context. The role is covering programs in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Indonesia.

GRANTS MANAGER will:
• Take the lead on planning and securing funding for all FI programs
• Identify funding sources for FI programs across the world and work with program and finance teams to design and develop new proposals and prepare funding submissions
• Build and maintain relationships with targeted donors
• Develop a good overall understanding of FI programs and approach to effectively represent FI at meetings with donors
• Inform and advise the country teams on new funding opportunities and how to follow up these opportunities
• Coordinate the proposal preparation and submission process for FI
• Ensure proposals are in compliance with donor guidelines and formats, and provide guidance and support to FI program and finance staff on donor rules, regulations and priorities
• Oversee and track the funding needs of all FI programs
• Manage the FI Grants Database
• Contribute to the design of fundraising strategies for the FI programs across the world
• Support FI Support Offices based in Europe and the US to improve their fundraising impact

Experiences and qualifications:
• University degree in a relevant discipline (international relations, development studies, political science etc.)
• Proven experience in project and strategic planning, experience in developing and writing proposals for NGOs
• Experience in communicating complex issues in a persuasive ways to a variety of audiences
• A good understanding of donor rules, regulations and priorities
• Experience in an international setting is an advantage
• Proficiency in MS Office products
• Fluent in English, fluency in French, German and/or Spanish is a plus
• Superior writing skills and the ability to tailor writing according to the needs/style of individual donors
• Excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines, strong analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences
• Dynamic, enthusiastic and with initiative

Location: This position is based in Phnom Penh with occasional visits to other programs.
Duration: Full-time work

Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experiences.
