Make Tote Bag and Make a Valentines Dress
For those of you who love sewing you are in for a real treat. For the first time we are offering a double sewing workshop this February.
In the morning session we will be making a folding tote bag - so handy to have in your bag, just in case you decide to stop and shop anywhere. It is a cotton tote bag that folds into a wallet shape with a zipper.
Objectives
We will guide you to sew the bag together.
You will learn about the following:
· Using the sewing machine for a simple project
· Sewing straight and curve lines
· Adding a zipper
In the afternoon make a simple dress to wear out for dinner - dress it up with jewellery, a belt or jacket. It is made from a soft and floppy viscose fabric and we have swatches available for you to choose the colour. The dress features an elastic waist and kimono sleeves.
Objectives
We will guide you to sew the dress together.
You will learn about the following:
· Using the sewing machine to make a simple dress
· Sewing seams
· Sewing hems with a machine
· Sewing a sleeve hem
You can attend either or both of the workshops.
All fabrics, threads and accessories will be provided.
We have space for 8 people.
We encourage people to bring their own domestic sewing machine so we can show you how to use it more effectively.
Please note we will be using Fairsew premises for this workshop so there will be no air conditioning
