Tourism ties between Hong Kong and Vietnam are set to improve with a new daily service between Hanoi and Hong Kong from Dragonair.
The flights will commence on October 26, 2008, and will be operated by an Airbus A320.
The service is not only aimed at leisure travel, although Hanoi is a popular Vietnamese tourist destination.
Business travel is expected to be a key market for the Dragonair service, who also expect to fly tourists from North Asia and long-haul markets such as North America, Australia and New Zealand to and from Hanoi.
The flight schedule awaits government approval, but currently will depart Hong Kong at 08:45 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, returning to Hanoi at 10:45.
The alternate days for the service, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, will be serviced with a 18:05 flight from Hong Kong and a returning service at 19:55.
The flight schedule for the new service has been designed to provide suitable connections to other Dragonair and Cathay Pacific services.
