Brazil's Olympic win Vietnam 2-0 in a friendly

It was the second and also the last friendly match of the Brazilian team before leaving for Beijing. The stadium was full of fans including State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

It was not a real competition, therefore the guests played in a slow pace. They had careful performance, especially in face-to-face situations. Meanwhile, Vietnamese players showed their high spirit and self-confidence during the match.

The guests had the first opportunity to score when Ronaldinho took a free kick which failed to find the net. Two minutes later, Cong Vinh made a long shot which went over the bar.

In the 6th minute, Pato received a good tactical pass from Ronaldinho and his shot gave goalie Santos no chance to save. The goal helped the Brazilians play more relaxed by launching rapid attacks.

The two teams played with ease until the last minute of first half and left the ground with 1-0 score for Brazil.

After the break, Vietnam played a more active football as the attack line was strengthened with Viet Thang and Van Nhien. The hosts had a very good opportunity in the 48th minute when Viet Thang made a volley, forcing Brazilian stopper to push the ball out of the net.

In the 66th minute, Minh Duc, another substitute, almost scored an equaliser when he made a powerful shot near the box. However, he was denied when the ball hit the woodwork.

With better strength and skills, the guests found it easy to dominate the game. Neves sealed a 2-0 win for Brazil in the 81st with a long shot.

The national team failed to score a goal in a game against Brazilian stars, however the fans were satisfied with their performance, especially the defence line.

Speaking after the match, coach Calisto said he was pleased with his players who tried their best and played better in the second half. Meanwhile, coach Dunga of Brazilian team compared to the match with Singapore, saying that the Vietnamese players are not as physically strong but more skillful and faster.
