Cambodia Women's Rugby Team Selected

The Cambodian Federation of Rugby today announced the selection of players for the Cambodian Women's National Rugby Team, which will play Laos in an international rugby match in Vientiane on Saturday.

Kickoff for Saturday's match is slated for 2 p.m. at the National University of Laos. The men's match, also between Cambodia and Laos, follows at 3 p.m.

Laos defeated Cambodia, 15-0, in the Southeast Asian Games last December in Thailand to win the bronze medal in the women's rugby competition.

Fairmont Raffles Hotels International in which Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) chaired by HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, holds a 58.1% controlling interest, has sold the Raffles Grand D' Angkor & Le Royal, Cambodia for a sale value SR131 million.

The Raffles Grand D' Angkor is a 131 room hotel in Siem Reap and Le Royal is a 170 room hotel located in Phnom Penh. These two hotels were acquired by Kingdom Hotel Investments (KHI), a company also owned 54% by KHC and chaired by HRH.

'Don't be Worried,' says Gold Tower 42 Supremo

Rumors of the departure of one of the South Korean shareholders of Gold Tower 42 sparked a story in Khmer-language newspaper Chakraval Daily yesterday.

The newspaper alleged that the shareholder in question "carried money from the sales of apartment buildings and escaped to South Korea," writing that "the scandal really shocked and surprised customers."

However, the "sudden disappearance" of advertisement billboards cited in the publication does not indicate any problems with the project's investors, Teng Rithy, Gold Tower 42's senior manager, said by phone.

A Swedish mother has offered $10,000 for information about the whereabouts of her 6-year-old daughter whom the woman believes was abducted by her estranged boyfriend. At a press conference in Bangkok, Thailand, 35-year-old Maria Elfversson from Gothenburg pleaded for help from the public and local media in the search for her missing daughter, Alicia.

"My despair is endless. Day and night I think of Alicia. My family and I have had constant contact with different authorities, international police, various embassies and more, but still nobody has been able to locate her," she said.
