Phnom Penh Crown sacks 9 players following AFC Hammer
Nine Players of Reigning Metfone C-League champions Phnom Penh Crown FC were last week clamped with lenghty Bans by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) following their role in a fracas during the AFC President’s Cup final on September 25.
Striker Chan Chaya, San Narith and Defender Sun Sovannrithy were handed six-month suspensions from all football competition for assaulting the referee during the ugly scenes in Kaosiung, Taiwan.

C-Ajer wins Human Rights Youth Tourney
C-Ajer Team emerged the champions in the U-16 Category of the Inaugural edition of the Human Rights Soccer Tournament organized by CIA First International School in Phnom Penh. In the U-13 Category, New Hope for Cambodia Children ( NHCC), an International NGO which caters for less privileged children emerged as champions in the One day soccer tournament held at the Vietcam Sports Center.

CIA Hosts Soccer Tournament for Human Rights
The Cambodia International Academy, a well established International School in Phnom Penh is set to host the first Human Rights Football Tournament. The kids’ competition brings together teams from organisations and schools in Phnom Penh to take part in a 6 v 6 Tournament at the Vietcam Sports Center.
According to the Tournament Organizers, the objectives of the one day competition is to help promote Equality, Justice and Human Rights for all.

FFC Reveals new Format for Hun Sen Cup
The Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) has revealed a revamped format for its 2012 edition of the Samdech Hun Sen Cup, which is set to run from January 7 to February 4.
This was made known by FFC general secretary Kul Sophana in an Exclusive interview, the Phnom Penh post reported on Friday.
The premier annual club tournament would feature two expanded stages – a qualification round, played at five provincial centres, and a group stage played in Phnom Penh.

Cambodia defeated by Nepal leaving fans to call for Lee's head
Cambodia's National U-23 Team yesterday suffered a 1-0 defeat to Nepal in their build up to the 26th SEA games in Indonesia. This defeat comes on the back of their failure to defend the BIDC Cup won in 2009 as they also fell to Thailand 2-1 in the semi finals of the 2011 BIDC cup thus putting pressure on the embattled Korean Coach Tae Hoon Lee

Myanmar wins Mekong Youth U-21 Football Cup 2011, beating Thailand 2-1
PHNOM PENH, October 16 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar beat Thailand 2-1 in the final of the 1st Mekong Region Youth U-21 International Football Tournament BIDC Cup 2011 at the Olympic Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
During the match, Thailand's Pakorn Parmpak scored one goal in the 40th minute, and in return, Myanmar's Zaw Lin levelled the score in the 42nd minute and Thet Naing scored another goal in the extra time.
At the end, Myanmar beat Thailand 2-1, winning the Cup and 20,000 U.S. dollar award.

Cambodia's first football Academy for young footballers
Phnom Penh Crown are streets ahead of any other professional football team in Cambodia.
Today's press conference to announce the first-ever residential football academy for young footballers proved exactly that. Trials in 17 locations (including most of the provinces) will take place during October to uncover the best talent the country's young football stars of the future have to offer. Aimed at 12 and 13 year olds, the 22 players that make the final cut will join Phnom Penh Crown on a full-time basis for two years, undergoing a tailored programme that will maximize their football potential and give them a private education as well. We are talking naturally-gifted players being coached every day to improve their technique and understanding of the game, at the club's own training ground in Tuol Kork.
