Hello,
I am looking for a contractor/renovator/re-builder (using all the terms I know of) to get some idea's on renovation costs before I buy an apartment. I need someone that can speak English so that we don't end up costing each other a lot of time or $$$. Western style construction and design will be a big plus.

Things I am looking for:
Concrete of course, guess that is any in Cambodia
Familiar with western vinyl window installation
Has done or knows someone that can put in wood flooring (comes in squares)
Electrical
Plumbing
Kitchen cabinets and counters

So all around type guy or one that knows how to get it all done.

I really want quality work. I don't want to do it again.

Thanks,
Andamo

I found a contractor that speaks good English and knows western materials and how to use them, or so it seems. I will have him look at an apt soon. His brother does design as well. I will keep you all posted, but in the mean time here is his info. I haven't used him but a local restaurant owner has (anonymous since I am posting) and the work there is really good.

His info:

Another contractor who will definitely exceed your expectations is:

Van Voren
0977293726
vanvoren [at] hotmail [dot] com

I have used him for two projects within the last year and he is excellent!

After the first project was completed, I had absolutely no hesitation in using Voren for the second project.

Always good to have second opinion/quote.

I would agree with you guys that Voren is a great candidate. I have seen his work and met his customers and nothing but praise so far.
Keep up the good work.

If you need a good electrical company try TEAMS. All work is done to Australian Standards. Contact 023 884187

Got to love Cambodia. In Australia asking a contractor for help before you actually buy an apartment wold get you a curt response. Wink

Absolutely - Van Voren is excellent and is part of the famous Van clan.

Half Price Heng. You get what you pay for.

Clip lock Wooden floors( probably a composite - not real wood but look amazing ) can be had at $18m2 which is cheaper then nice tiles. Go look at the new Lone Star Bar and speak to owner Greg. They look awesome and are apparently very durable. At that price you could redo them every 5 years !

I can also highly recommend TEAMS who can do everything from reno to water to power but they will not look at your apartment until AFTER you have purchased.

Good luck with it.

Seen some lovely timber flooring recently, less than $20 a square metre for the timber and the labour would be bugger all as we know.
This is real timber, looks a bit like meranti.
Clip lock may be fodder for white ants methinks.

Hi,
My name is Denis Gadefait and after having read your add, I just wanted to ask if that one was still current.
Actually, I have been for almost 4 years in PP working as a contractor and it is still possible to hear and see about my work over there in several public places such as Giorgio's Pop Cafe on Riverside or Tendance Khmere on st. 278 or the Hotel 252, st 252 for instance and numerous other private places which are of course more difficult to see !
Because of personal reasons I needed to go back to France but now I could be available in Cambodia real soon if needed. I still have my men ready to work.
If you want to have more informations, i'd be ready to answer all of your questions.
Cordially,
Denis Gadefait

If denis did hotel 252 then he did a very good job,I would go with him depending on the cost.
252 is some of the best work that i have seen.

Hi Catherine,
Sorry 4 the delay to answer but I'm not familiar with that interface ! Your question is where to call me ? I'm at the moment in France but as I already wrote in the previous message it is possible 4 me 2 come back if needed 'coz the situattion here in France is far from being funny ! More over I'm still in touch with my former men in PP ready 2 get back 2 work with me ( which is very rare ! ). Then, if u want more privacy, my mail is ; denis [dot] gadefait [at] orange [dot] fr and my phone number is from Cambodia ; +33 7 86 18 13 25 and finally the most unexpensive way, by Skype . denisducambodge.
Hope 2 hear from u soon.
Cordially,
Denis
