I'm thinking about ordering some electronic items via ebay to be shipped to my Siem Reap address, but I have heard from friends that most of the mails and parcels get lost when they arrive in Phnom Penh. Is it safer to open a post box at Siem Reap Post office to receive mails and parcels?
Hello there, I order plenty of stuff to Phnom Penh Poste Restante, never had a problem. They open the packages, but nothing is missing.
Electronics, phones etc might be a problem though, a least they could ask You to pay taxes, the worst would be... !
Do you need an agent to bring in bigger items of freight? If so what is the median cost? Are there taxes to be paid on electrical goods?
Would be nice to know in advance and perhaps have a contact to organise the transaction.
regards
Steve
