Good luck, as I am from a similar background and there is nothing here for people with our skills in Cambodia.

I will be in the same position with the both of you guys when I arrive in Cambo. I had extensive training in tactical-combat shooting/defensive training.
Maybe we should form up a securtity firm and put our skills on the market.

Ok, I think it won't be easy to find in this way. But with the police incompetence and corruption, I don't understand why people like us can't find some contracts... OK, Cambodian will ask for less money, but are they reliable ? I don't think so. When I went in Cambodia a few months ago, I saw the policemen and security guards, and I wouldn't let my life in their hands. Maybe it is possible to find a contract to take in charge the training in security enterprises ? What do you think about it ?

What about training would-be security guards? Maybe through an NGO or something?

Better yet, start your own security company and provide a better product. It sounds like there is a niche.

I think starting a security company or providing already established security companies with the required training would probably be a good idea. All you would need is a good proposal highlighting your skills and what you can provide for the company, and I think that would be a good positive direction.

Well, I return in Cambodia on june (2nd) for three weeks for my wedding. I'll try to get some informations with an expat who is helping me for the administrative wedding procedures. Is anyone know some security enterprises established in Cambodia ? The problem is on having some relationship. And also find the good place for training, with all we need (where can we find a good shooting range ?). Also, I'm not lawyer, and I don't know the legal status for these activities (right to bear weapons, legal defense...). A good part of my knowledge is on tactical shooting, so if it is prohibited for security guards and bogyguards to use weapons, it means that the most of my knowledge is useless...

There is a Security firm here called G4 Securities. I'm sure they'll be in the yellow pages, and have a web site - they are an International co. You could sound them out.
