The objective of Handicap International Belgium (HIB) is to help people with disabilities to regain their independence, dignity and rights. Our vision is of a world in which all forms of disabilities can be prevented, cared for or integrated, and in which the rights of people with disabilities are respected and applied. HIB has gradually developed multi-faceted prevention and rehabilitation projects to respond to the needs of people with disabilities.
Following to the alarming evolution of road traffic accidents and their physical, social and economical consequences, the road safety program was launched in 2004.
HIB is currently seeking a qualified and motivated Cambodian national to fulfil the position of Road Safety Community Based Education Officer.
The position will be based in Phnom Penh with regular travels to provinces as necessary. The duration of the contract is from 15 May 2007 for a two-year-project with potential extended.
This position can be promoted depending on his/her capability.
Duties
The Duties for the position include:
Assist the Road Safety and public relations manager in implementing the road safety community based education and first aid project.
Set up an effective and continuous monitoring system and follow up the project which is implemented by the NGOs along National Road 5 and 6.
Work with RTAVIS project manager to develop action plan for the First Aid project (work-plan, activities, and budget).
In collaboration with partners, develop first aid curriculum, kits and other training materials.
Organize the first aid trainings for traffic police officers in provinces.
Requirements
The Essential Requirements for the position are:
Bachelor degree on Education or any related fields.
With at least 2 years working experience in NGO, especially on community level.
Excellent organizational skill.
Good team work.
Be able to travel frequently to provinces.
Good in writing and speaking English.
Computer literacy.
