The Advisor is looking for an editor. We have ambitious plans for expansion and we need a driven editor to help guide our growth. The editor will report to The Advisor Shareholders.
The Editor will be responsible for providing regular thought-leadership content in print. This position will also assist in the weekly production of the print and web version.

Key responsibilities
• Supervise a small editorial staff and network of paid contributing writers
• Direct editorial scope with an eye toward expeditious expansion
• Work closely with staff of The Advisor to coordinate coverage
• Supervise search for new contributors
• Work with the team to manage the weekly publication and website
• Research, develop, and write arts and entertainment stories
• Solicit and propose relevant topics based on industry and organizational knowledge
• Review, rewrite, and edit the work of others as needed
• Posts and regularly updates website content
• Researches topical assignments and develops concise and informative communications
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and experience
• 3-5 years of editorial management experience
• Deep passion for, and expansive knowledge of, pop and web culture
• Ability to anticipate new coverage areas and compelling ways to cover them
• Strong editing skills and sense of editorial voice
• Flexibility to work with small niche team, from emerging authors to veteran journalists
• Familiarity with web publishing content-management systems
• Thorough mastery of grammar and punctuation
• Ability to work quickly and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to balance multiple projects when necessary
• Attention to detail
• Superior editing skills
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Journalism degree a big plus
