Malaria Program Coordinator (MPC) - Partners for Development

Partners for Development (PFD) is seeking for qualified Cambodian National for its Malaria Programs supported by the Global Fund to fight Aids, TB and Malaria (GFATM) for Round 2 (up to end of 2007), Round 4 (up to August 2009) and Round 6 (scheduled to start in July 2007 for a 3 year period). PFD has 3 sub-sub-recipients (PHD in Kratie and Koh Kong under R2 and Nomad RSI in Mondulkiri province under R4).

The Malaria Program Coordinator (MPC) is responsible for coordination of PFD's Malaria Program in Kratie, Koh Kong, Stung Treng and Mondulkiri provinces. He/she will be based in PFD Phnom Penh Office, with field trips to those four provinces. This position is designed to provide senior level technical inputs to PFD Malaria Programs funded by GFATM.

The MPC will work as a counterpart to the Malaria Program Manager and in close collaboration with the Malaria Program Coordinator Assistant, in the planning, implementation and reporting of all malaria program activities, while also serving as liaison person with relevant donors, CNM, provincial authorities and partner NGOs,. It is expected that the MPC will spend about 50% in PP duty station, and about 50% for monitoring in the four project provinces.

REQUIREMENTS
The Essential Requirements for the position are:
Medical Doctor, Public Health and/or Community Health related qualifications, with at least 8 years work experience in the health sector in field based programs.
Experience of conducting needs assessments, planning and implementation for health programs with a high level of knowledge and understanding of community health and MoH policy.
Experience of malaria control programs and/or of Global Fund programs/project management is an asset.
Excellent skills in Khmer and English written and verbal communication, with extensive experience on translation of technical documents for health programs and experience in workshop facilitation
High level of competency in Computer software, with working knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint and E-Mail/Internet technology.
Knowledge of database and/or GIS software is an asset.
Willingness to travel to field projects with adaptable and flexible disposition is essential.
Ability to thrive in a challenging environment with demonstrated cultural sensitivity and commitment to community development and capacity building.
