BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Gecsn is a network that brings together local NGOs with the aim of improving the lives of vulnerable Cambodian children, their families, and their communities. Our core business is transferring knowledge and know-how, but we also make financial contributions and link local NGOs with Western donors. Gecsn sustains Damnok Toek, an NGO working in Cambodia since 1997 with the aim of supporting vulnerable children such as street children, children with handicap, and trafficked children. The final objective of Damnok Toek is to reintegrate children in their families or their community after giving them the means to build their own independent life. Damnok Toek has 3 projects: one in Poipet, one in Neak Loeung and another in Phnom Penh. A Center for Children with disabilities was established in 2003 in Phnom Penh. This center shelters children with physical and intellectual disabilities from different ages and it provides different specific services to address the different needs of these children. Gecsn is now recruiting a Technical Advisor who could work in the Centre for Children with disabilities.

The main requirements for this job are the following:
- Health Care Background ( Doctor, Nurse or Health Assistance) is mandatory
- Experience in the disabilities sector highly desired
- Excellent level of spoken and written English
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, E-mail)
- Respectful team worker, interested in working in an inter-cultural setting
- Leadership skills and a supportive management style
- Ability to work on own initiative

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the dissemination and implementation of minimum standards for children’s care at the residential centre;
- Regular monitoring of the activities conducted in the residential centre;
- Technical support to the management team on program management and child care;
- Support to the reorganization of the new centre, in terms of staff organization and activities with the children;
- Follow up of the health status of the children at the centre, continue links with national hospitals and charity hospitals to provide quality care to the children;
- Support the monitoring system (collecting information, reporting and forms);
- Support and follow up to the reintegration plan with the adolescents at the centre, support to organize their different vocational skills or academic plan;
- Support to the physiotherapist and occupational therapist on the daily therapeutic plan to the children;
- Follow up the nutrition plan and support to improve the daily menu and monitor food purchase;
- Participate in regular meetings with different stakeholders on disability sector.
