My boss is trying to help his housekeeper and cook find a good position in Phnom Penh. She is a delightful Vietnamese woman named Huong. She worked for his family for two and a half years and for his predecessor’s family for three years before that (they had very young children). She’s hardworking, proactive and thoughtful about her work, she’s a terrific cook (vegetarian, meat dishes, Vietnamese, Khmer, Western dishes), very honest (she currently has a key to hia home and comes and goes as she pleases – she used to look after his house and dogs when they took vacation). Very gentle with children and infants – she babysat his children (aged 9, 12) and got high marks after looking after an infant on behalf of one of our visiting consultant’s for two weeks.
