Friends-International is a social enterprise that works with marginalized urban children and youth, their families and communities, to help them become independent and productive citizens of their country.
Friends-International is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of a Livelihoods Specialist to collaborate on a United States Department of Labor-funded Project to Combat Child Labor in Cambodia.

Position overview
Livelihoods Specialist will be a part of an international team working on combating Child Labor in Cambodia. This is a long term position and the assignment is expected to start in early 2013.

Experiences and qualifications:
• Advanced degree
• Minimum of three years of experience in a leadership position responsible for developing livelihood interventions and the technical aspects related to the proposed strategy, including skills training, micro-lending, micro-savings, employment generation, alternative/additional income generation, youth employment, and social protection;
• Experience in projects promoting livelihoods interventions;
• Understanding of child labor issues, including youth employment;
• Experience working successfully with government agencies and private organizations engaged in promoting improved livelihoods for households and the provision of social protection services;
• Experience working with employers’ organizations, trade unions or other civil society organizations;
• A clear and thorough understanding of USDOL rules and regulations, policies and procedures, and the mandatory reporting requirements;
• Demonstrated interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills;
• Reading, writing, and speaking capacity in local languages is preferred;
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.
Location: This position is based in Phnom Penh
Duration: Full-time work

Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experiences.
