Advertise for position of Assistant Provincial Coordinators

The USAID Malaria Prevention and Control Activities in Cambodia implemented by the University Research Co., LLC, is seeking qualified Cambodian national for the position of Assistant Provincial Coordinators be based in Pailine and Oddar Meanchey to the URC focus provinces along the Thailand/ Cambodia border. The position will be responsible for implementation of this malaria program by working closely with the community, health facilities, Operational Districts (OD), Provincial Health Departments (PHD) and National Malaria Center (CNM) to support the activities of the National Malaria Prevention and Control Program in Cambodia with the aim of reducing malaria mortality, multi-drug resistance, and morbidity through the implementation of a comprehensive strategy that emphasizes prevention and curative interventions. This position is available immediately.

Assistant Provincial Coordinator

Duties will include:

Assist PCs to plan and manage malaria project activities with MOH counterparts at all level including CNM, PHD, OD and community.
Assist PCs to coordinate with counterpart to map mobile migrant population and improve their access to appropriate prevention and control activities.
Report to PCs on progress and problems related to project activities
Assist to PCs to coordinate closely with MOH and NGO counterparts and provide technical support and/or supervision as needed.
Assist PCs to identify needs in support of project activities that may require additional domestic and foreign technical consultants.
Assist to PCs to provide on-site supervision of any surveys, operational research or data collection tivities.
Coordinate and manage all URC funded workshops and training activities related to strengthening MOH staff capacity in the area of strategic planning, program monitoring, appropriate supply of malaria diagnosis and treatment.
Assist to PCs to organize health education to target population at the community in focus areas in collaboration with OD malaria supervisors.
Assist to PCs to coordinate with counterpart for IBN for all endemic areas
Assist to PCs to coordinate specific activities related to strengthening the HIS at all levels pecially at OD levels.
Prepare monthly progress reports to PCs.

Qualifications

Minimum of university degree in a health (medical doctor or medical assistant) or health related field. Masters degrees in the relevant field will be advantage (or a plus)
A minimum of four years of experience in managing health programs in the field
Proactive managers with initiative and the willingness to work hard
Excellent interpersonal and mentoring skills
Good management and supervisory skills. Monitoring and evaluation skills are a plus
Fluency in written and spoken in English as well as Khmer
Willingness to travel to remote rural areas on a regular basis
And other works as required by PCs and Chief of Party
