I thought England was known as "Treasure Island" because of it's huge profit margins.
I guess in Cambodia the "margin" goes to customs officials' lexus, tasteless gold watch, whisky and pretty young mistress fund.

Imported vehicles in Cambodia do attract large taxes... be thankful that other imported items do not have the same taxes...look at the prices of alcohol and imported foods in surrounding SE Asian countries.

Cambodia USD 1.00 for a beer...
