In the summer of 2013, Phnom Penh-based photojournalist Ben Woods and five friends became the first group to connect the remote Dubawnt, Morse and Arkmark rivers of northern Canada by canoe, paddling 1,000 miles (1,600 km) from Black Lake, Saskatchewan to the Arctic Ocean. With a grant from National Geographic, Woods photographed the team’s two-month journey across the desolate tundra of Canada’s Barren Lands. This is documented in the exhibition ARCTIC BOUND: 1,000 MILES ACROSS CANADA BY CANOE.
