Creative Writing Course

The Creative Writing course is designed for all participants to enjoy the process of writing and editing, in a comfortable environment to reach their individual aims and goals. Each writer will produce weekly or fortnightly work for the group to edit and critique. Hard copies of work from each participant will be required for the group to read, edit and written notes will be returned to the writer for assistance with their revision. Exercises and activities will be designed to stimulate the writing process to provide a format for those times when the writing process needs a little ignition. Each person who presents work will have equal amount of critiquing and editing time, during the day's course. The course will run for 7 weeks on Tuesdays at 3pm until 4.30pm (time may vary depending on students present). The process of publishing will be touched on, if students are interested. Cost 8$ per person, per class. Total 7 weeks package will cost 50$.

Bio

Faithe Duberchin was born in Southern California, USA. Her two passions have been writing and animals. In 1993 she received her B.A. in Creative Writing and Literature from Eckerd University. She then moved to Europe where she travelled for two years before immigrating to Australia in 1996. While working at the NSW Writers' Centre, she completed her M.A. in English from The University of Sydney in 2000. Her poetry has been published in literary journals and she has won numerous awards for her writing. After receiving her M.A., she decided to follow her other bliss and enrolled in the Veterinary Science programme at The University of Queensland. In 2005, she became a veterinarian and has since worked nationally and internationally. Presently, she has married her two vocations together by teaching English in Cambodia, volunteering as a veterinarian for a local animal welfare group and is this first Creative Writing Workshop at Feel Good.
