CHRISTMAS CAROLS AT THE CONVENT CHAPEL
ANOTHER FIRST FOR THE INTERNATIONAL CHOIR & ORCHESTRA
The International Choir of HCMC and its new orchestra will be performing two Christmas concerts this year featuring Vivaldi's Magnificat and the usual line up of festive season favourites. This special one-hour concert will take place in the unique setting of the St Paul's Convent Chapel in District 1.

In addition to the usual Christmas Classics and Carols, we have a special treat in store in the form of a wonderful treble singer (boy soprano), who will delight you with his rendition of Panis Angelicus, supported by the choir.

It promises to be a magical evening - no tickets are required - simply donate what you think is a fair thing for this kind of performance - we suggest a good indicator is what you might spend on a meal in a restaurant... some budgets are bigger and some are smaller, but all donations go to support Poussieres de Vie (Dust of Life) children's charity, and of course we'll be giving some to the convent to support their good works with the poor and needy via their hospice and other community work.

Rarely open to the public, the convent's chapel and surrounding cloisters were built by the French. The chapel has recently been renovated, but retains all its old charm, including the gorgeous vaulted ceilings, original French brickwork, colonial floor tiles and now has lovely ambient lighting.

You may have driven past the convent complex many times but not known it was there... it sits right opposite the Prudential Building and Lush nightclub on Ton Duc Thang St, and the chapel is partly visible as you drive along Nguyen Huu Canh, to/from Le Thanh Ton and the Sushi Bar...

The address of the convent is 4 Bis Nguyen Trung Ngan, District 1. You need to go down the little 'food' street that runs from Ton Duc Thang to enter the convent. If travelling by motorbike, you can park it in the convent grounds for the concert. Those coming by car or taxi will have to walk a couple of hundred metres down the lane. There is no entrance from Ton Duc Thang due to construction works.

Please note Friday 4 December or Saturday 5 December in your calendar now! Both concerts start at 8pm. We encourage you to come earlier than the 8pm start to ensure yourselves a good vantage point, as there are no reserved seats and no seat numbers in the chapel.
