Talkin' to a Stranger

"It's like going for a drink in mates garden" -- By Misstery Rider.

Why should I go?

Great surroundings, no ladies of negotiable affection, if you're tired of pool tables and sports bars and want to chat to interesting (but not pretentious) people - this is your place. Clothes shop in the back. British run quiz every second Tuesday. Band every second Sunday. Derek and Wendy are nearly always around and its just relaxed. My Khmer friends feel comfortable there and all are made welcome. Food changes regularly and is good - given that Derek is one part of Aus Khmer - the lamb is pretty darned good.

Any downsides?

It's in a garden - put on mossie repellent - or boots. Closed Mondays.

Waffle

It's set in the garden of Derek and Wendys house and the more I go there, the more I feel like a member of the family visiting (and to give D & W their due I've never caught them hiding behind the sofa and pretending they're not there and they still talk to each other...so they're nothing like my family...) I love it.
