Kouprey Squad Selected for Asian Five Nations Tournament

The roster includes 22 Cambodian players and one expatriate player who is eligible under the International Rugby Board (IRB) three year residency requirement.

The Asian Five Nations Series was established earlier this year by the IRB, the world governing body of rugby union, to encourage the development of the sport in Asia. Twenty-five Asian nations, representing various levels of rugby development, are participating in regional tournaments across the continent.

Cambodia plays Laos Saturday at 14:00 (Indonesia time) in the opening match of the Jakarta tournament. The two teams previously met on May 31 in Vientiane. In that encounter, Laos used five penalty kicks to edge Cambodia, 15-14.
