The "Glitz & Glamour" Charity fashion show

The "Glitz & Glamour" fashion show committee of Phnom Penh is pleased to announce that tickets to the "Glitz & Glamour" charity fashion show and gala dinner are now on sale. This great event, the first of its kind in Phnom Penh, will take place in the Grand Ballroom of the InterContinental on 5 May 2007. All proceeds from the show will be donated to three well established charities, which are delivering crucial aid to Cambodia's children: Goutte D'Eau, Hagar and Operation Smile.

"We wanted to do something that would really impact as many children as possible, really to focus on their physical and mental well being, free from politics or other strings. That's why we chose these charities," says Anna-Marie Pampellonne, chairperson of the "Glitz & Glamour" fashion show committee. "Goutte D'Eau, Hagar and Operation Smile, all provide direct and tangible care for children, you can really see the results of their work. They inspired our slogan, 'Building a brighter future for Cambodia's children,'" says Pampellonne.

The Phnom Penh show is the brainchild of Anna-Marie herself, who has produced and choreographed for a similar charity event which takes place in Jakarta, Indonesia, her former home. She says, "this is a new emerging market for designers in Cambodia, its the perfect time to showcase local talent for a great cause."

"We wanted to do something that would really impact as many children as possible, really to focus on their physical and mental well being, free from politics or other strings. That's why we chose these charities."

"Glitz & Glamour" in Phnom Penh will feature the designs of Alexandra Barter, Ambre, Elsewhere, Eric Raisina, Jasmine Boutique, Kambuja Boutique and Lisa Cunningham.

The show's 35 models are all members of the community, expatriate and local alike. "We are teachers, mothers, fathers, business people and students - just regular people that thought that this would be a fun way to help and contribute," says one model and committee member.

"What's great about this show is that it is really and truly a community effort, says Pampellonne, from the committee members to the models to hair and makeup artists and of course the designers, we are all donating our time, resources, energy and expertise to create a fun and highly entertaining evening for a good cause." While some of the designers are expatriates, all the designers are using Cambodian silks, textiles and all are using local work force to produce their creations.

"Glitz & Glamour's" generous sponsors are allowing the committee to give virtually all of the proceeds to the selected charities. "Glitz & Glamour's" Diamond sponsors include, ANZ Royal Bank, CBRE - Richard Ellis, Hong Kong, CTN and Hotel InterContinental.

The spectacular Glitz & Glamour fashion show will be preceded by a fabulous Champagne Reception, a Gala dinner, an exciting raffle draw and an auction of one of a kind creation donated by some of the participating designers and followed by a night of dancing... truly a night to remember!
