KIRE ‐ Khmer Initiative Rural Enterprise , a project of local non government organization Wathnakpheap, aims to help disadvantaged rural communities in Pursat, Svay Rieng and Siem Reap, three of WP's target provinces. Wathnakpheap works to improve the quality of life and livelihood of disadvantaged women, youth and children from the poorest families by providing education, life skills and vocational skills training.

KIRE works with these communities to help increase income generation, growth & sustainability by providing employment in KIRE workshops and training community members to operate small enterprises in their home villages. Products produced by
communities are made from a range of materials including bamboo, grass and cotton. KIRE then also provides support by marketing the communities products and providing sales outlets, while also promoting the benefits of buying locally made Cambodian products.
