Axe, the iconic male fragrance & deodorant brand just launched a new campaign dubbed as “Axe Anarchy Island: Sexy Saves Boracay.” Many have raved about the wonders of this island located in the Visayas region of the Philippines. I was astonished to see Boracay for the very first time in 2007 for a church retreat. Yes, you heard it right -- we spent a church retreat in Boracay and the experience was breathtaking!
Know more about Boracay by reading this post I wrote in April 2011 on my bother blog, The Intersections & Beyond, and why Boracay became the second top beach destination in the world for 2011.
The campaign project of Axe aims to rally support for the preservation and promotion of the island of Boracay. “It’s one of the most beautiful places in the World. We want to get more young people to care about Boracay by making this a cool and sexy cause to support,” says Axe Brand Manager Gem Laforteza.
Here's what in store for us, Axe lovers, and what this campaign of Axe could do for the environment:
#1.) Axe Philippines will be sending two (2) brand ambassadors on a mission to promote Boracay and the rest of the country in an upcoming assembly of Axe ambassadors in the Carribean.
To celebrate the successful global launch of its newest fragrance, Axe Anarchy, Axe will be throwing a 3-day party in a private island in Palencia, Belize in the Carribean Sea. Brand ambassadors will be flown in from all participating Axe countries to party on a beautiful patch of sand. Seeing this as an opportunity to promote Boracay, Axe Philippines will be sending one (1) guy and one (1) girl to represent the Philippines at the party.
#2.) Axe Philippines will also be coming up with fundraisers to pool support for a clean-up mission in Boracay. Their first event is a sexy car wash called “Axe Anarchy Bikini Car Wash,” which is slated on October 20, 2012 at the NBC Tent Grounds at the Fort.
The Axe Girls will be washing cars in exchange for 500-peso donations to the cause.
#3.) All proceeds from the Car Washing event (in #2 above) will be matched by Axe Philippines and used to fund a clean-up mission. Axe Philippines will be donating one peso for every one peso raised during event. Isn't that awesome?
Let's all put together our support for this project of Axe to save and preserve our environment and that more people will be reached out for help.
