Vietnam and Myammar have set the pace in the Football event of the 26th SEA Games currently underway in Lebak Bulus Stadium, Jakarta Indonesia after both teams played out a Scoreless draw on Saturday in the Group B encounter.

Both sides recorded earlier wins on Thursday in their opening fixtures. Vietnam saw off Phillipines 3-1 while Myanmar managed to beat Laos 3-2 playing with ten men for much of the tie.
Football is a mind game. And Myanmar certainly proved that on Saturday night, when for the second time in two matches, playing with ten men, they managed to avoid defeat.

In the other group Fixtures, Timor Leste beat returnee Brunei by 2-1.

Cambodia will kick start their SEA games Football Campaign at 7pm today in a group A fixture against favorite Indonesia. Cambodia football team has never won any host side in the Sea Games. They lost 1-0, 3-1 in 1999 and 2007 respectively to Indonesia.

Laboravy on his way to goal when Cambodia took on Laos in a 2014 World Cup Qualifiers.

Following an erratic performance in warm up games, embattled Korean Coach Lee Hoon Tae, will have to inspire his wards against the host side backed by a vociferous crowd in the 80,000 capacity GELORA BUNG KARNO stadium in Jakarta.

“We can ill afford to take it easy in the first game, not when we are playing against the hosts in front of their die hard home fans,” said Tae Hoon.

“We are still looking for consistency and the players must realize that they have the full 90 minutes to play, not just concentrate in patches and hope that we can pull through as a team.

“We are still looking for that consistency and I hope that by playing in a big game in the first match, it will prod a better performance from the players.” the embattled Korean tactician stated.
