PM gives a boost for SEA Games Contingent

The Cambodian Delegation to the SEA games were Monday given a boost by the Prime Minister Hun Sen who announced a Cash award of 300 USD for all delegates and a further 3000 USD for Gold medalist, 2000 USD for Silver medalists and 1000 USD for bronze medalists.

The PM made this announcement at a reception held in honour of the SEA games bound contingent.

In his speech, the Prime Minister encouraged the athletes and coaches to put in their best to win laurels for the Kingdom in the biennial event which will take place in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 11th - 22nd November 2011.

Earlier on, the President of the NOC of Cambodia, Dr. Thong Khon informed the PM and other dignitaries present that the Kingdom is sending a total of 230 Delegates comprising of 180 Athletes competition in 20 sports and 50 Officials and Coaches.

Prime Minister Hun Sen Also pledged that the Government will henceforth take a closer look into sports development in the country promising to Build a new sports complex of international Standard.

With this added incentives, Gold medalists are due to receive a total of 15,000 USD following similar 3000 USD pledges from Corporate sponsors Nagaworld and Cambrew while the Ministry of Education, Youth and sports is offering 6000 USD to each gold medal winner.
