The Cambodia Black Crows (Khaek Khmoa) touch team, sponsored by expat-advisory.com, captained by Stewart Gee and consisting of 8 members, traveled to Bangkok recently to participate in the Southerners International Social Mixed Touch Tournament. The tournament was held on Saturday, the 13th of November, and 8 teams from around the region entered.
The Khmer Crows started off well with three wins out of their first three games, over the Hanoi team, Ho Chi Minh team and one of the local Southerner’s teams. However, after the lunch break, the lack of subs and the muggy weather took their toll on the team, and the next four games ended up with two draws and two losses for the Crows.
Overall, the Crows ended up a respectable 3rd, and Kane Epati was awarded Best on Ground for his consummate handling of the ball and explosive speed. The tournament was won by one of the local Southerners teams, and the evening ended with a sumptuous buffet at the stylish British Club.
The Crows are a social touch team that play every Saturday afternoon at the ISPP field (behind BKK market). For details please phone Stewart 012 821 795 or MO 092 974 759. It is a non-contact sport, and all new players are welcome, both men and women, those with experience and also beginners.
