Cambodia’s Foreign based athletes arrive for SEA Games,

France based Hout Samath ready to spill blood for Fatherland

No less than three of the foreign based Cambodian athletes touched down in the Kingdom on Tuesday night ahead of their last lap of preparation for the 26th SEA games, which are set to start in less than 10 days time in Indonesia.

Leading the pack of early arrivals is boxer Hout Sam Ath, who arrived at Pochentong Airport from his Paris base Tuesday Night. Also arriving from Europe is basketball player, Stefan Doll Sao and Taekwondo Athlete Tubbs Daren from the USA.

“I am delighted to be home again” Says 22 year old Hout Sam Math who is visiting Cambodia for the second time. Samath will fight in the 81kg category boxing and the 1.80m boxer whose father is from Battambang and mother is from Pursat is looking forward to the SEA games with great excitement.

“Sure, I can’t wait for the SEA games to begin, It has been my dream to fight for my country and I am glad to have the chance now to win medal for Cambodia” he stated.

For Sao, he can’t wait to unite with his team mates who also arrived yesterday from China where they basketball team finished 7th in the China Asean Invitational Basketball Tournament. “It was hell following the proceedings in china from my base in Austria” Sao said moments after touching down on homeland. “I wish I were there to help the team, surely I will give my best in the SEA Games and hopefully we can return with a medal” he enthused.

Tubbs Daren who arrived on Tuesday from his base in Texas, USA is delighted to be back in his motherland and is looking forward to the SEA games with great enthusiasm. Tubbs Daren was expected to take part in the London 2012 Asian Qualifiers in Thailand from 2nd – 5th November but the championship was postponed indefinitely leaving the 22 year old to concentrate on the SEA Games. “It was disappointing to see that the Qualifiers was postponed but it’s good that I can get more focused on the SEA games for now” he stated. “I hope to give my best in the SEA games and want to fight to win” he enthused.

Meanwhile, Swiss based Sprinter; Pin Wanheap is expected in the Kingdom later today at about 2:30pm. “I am now in Bangkok and will fly to Cambodia soon, I should be there around 2:30” The 26 year old 100m runner told Expat Advisory from Thailand where he is transiting “I am so excited and really want to hit the track running for Cambodia” says an excited Pin Wanheap
