This month we delve into the sights, sounds and cultural history of the ancient city of Manila.

The city of Manila is old. The Philippine capital—which is one of 16 cities that comprise Metropolitan Manila—has all the trappings of a modern city, including two light rail transit lines, malls and a slew of five-star hotels; but its age is indelibly marked in the centuries-old architecture that is as historically significant as it is ancient.

Hooked On Pizza

Ever since I was a kid growing up in Southern California, my favorite food has been pizza. You know the kind of pizza I mean. Pizza dripping with mozzarella cheese and every topping imaginable. The kind that smells good even two blocks away from the pizza parlor!

Well, today I took a ride into Angeles City to visit a friend of mine. While there, I found that he is selling a complete pizza restaurant full of all the equipment needed to run a business! Everything from ovens, mixers, prep tables, etc etc etc.

THE BALCONY Gastropub opened its gates just in September 2010, but has quickly gained a reputation for great food, very reasonably priced drinks and a great atmosphere. As proof of this, the place is packed every night! Very popular among local and foreign business people working in Makati, the mainly young crowd keeps this place busy, often until the wee-hours. Try their CREPES!

If You Are Over 40 You Will Love This

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning...Uphill... barefoot...BOTH ways Yadda, yadda, yadda

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on my kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

But now that I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo became officially a candidate for representative of Pampanga’s second district in the 2010 elections at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The President, who came from a Mass organized by her supporters in her late father’s hometown of Lubao, personally filed her certificate of candidacy at the Commission on Elections office in this capital city.

Arroyo was mobbed by supporters as she arrived at the Comelec office. She was accompanied by her husband, lawyer Jose Miguel Arroyo, and mayors and other officials of Pampanga.
