This 5 star boutique hotel, part of Orient Express, is located on a narrow strip of land stretched along the river of Siem Reap, 6 kilometers far from the temples of Angkor. An attentive yet open-minded interpretation of Khmer architecture, together with an extensive use of local materials, gives to La Residence d'Angkor a unique, serene atmosphere and allows for the integration of the construction to its natural and cultural environment.

Amansara, formerly the guest villa of King Norodom Sihanouk, has been refurbished as an intimately exclusive 24-suite resort for Amanresorts. The project consisted of 2 phases: Phase 1 was to refurbish the existing villas and converse into a 12-room resort including a restaurant and a library. The construction period lasted 10 months, including demolition with the soft opening taking place 6 and half months into the construction period. Phase 2 included 12 additional rooms with private swimming pools, a spa and a 25 m long lap pool. The construction period for this phase was only 11 months.

Located in the very heart of the town, Victoria Angkor Hotel is one of the most famous hotels of Siem Reap, the gate to Angkor temples. Its architecture combines lime rendered walls and verandas inherited from the French colonial style with timber columns, balustrades, and pitched roofs typical of Cambodian construction.

The main façade overlooking the central park of Siem Reap with the other rooms is arranged around a lush internal garden and swimming pool.

The airport's long sweeping elevations and galleries plays with its Angkorean heritage. The playful roofs have anchorage in more recent traditional Khmer architecture.

A large central garden and smaller internal gardens portray friendliness, an openness rarely seen in modern airports due to today's strict security regulations. A glistering wall of glass blocks turns into a shadow theater while passengers await their luggage. Smooth, pre-cast concrete panels contrast with raw dark painted steel profiles and columns. The vast 13 meters to ceiling in a one storey building suddenly compresses under a series of lower ceilings, an animation leading the action forward.

Modern interpretations of ancient gates are vivid and ever present elements. Huge, punched window openings provide seating possibilities as well as relaxing views to water features and lush greenery.

Located close to Ream, Cambodia, the project stretches over a total land area of approximately 95 ha, consisting of:

-150 villas and 100 condominium apartments to be built in the first phase;

- Hotels (one Aman Hotel, one Sofitel hotel, one Orient-Express Pansea Hotel and one "Urban" Hotel), commercial areas, restaurants and bars to be developed in the second phase;

- A golf course to be constructed in the third phase.

This renovation of a 1960's villa in the heart of Phnom Penh aims at preserving the old structure and keeping the old trees. The architectural challenge is to turn this project into a modern home with all facilities whist keeping an ambiance of the past and respecting the construction techniques of the 60's.

The owner has a strong wish to preserve this villas as an aesthetic eye catcher when riding a long the central Sihanouk Boulevard. An additional covered roof deck has been created to provide views over the Hun Sen Park, the Independence Monument and everyday Cambodian life.
